Pre and Post Nuptial Agreements (‘Prenups’ and ‘Postnups’)
The Family Mediation Centre has seen an increase in the number of people requesting Prenups and Postnups to be discussed in Family Mediation.
Some Family Mediation clients want to start a new chapter in their lives by reaching proposals on their assets together.
By discussing your pre or post marital proposals in mediation, the meetings are usually carried out face to face and you can also seek legal advice from solicitors in between sessions.
We find that clients want to reach financial proposals in a setting that is calm, private and is cost effective.
The use of pre marital agreements has increased since the Radmacher Case, in which the Court of Appeal explained that they should be upheld unless there was a good reason for them not to be.
